Diwali Greetings!

Deepawali (aka Diwali), festival of lights, is one of the major Hindu festivals.

It is a celebration of the victory of righteousness over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It also marks beginning of a new year for Hindus!

Lord Shri Ram ji killed demon king Ravan and rescued his beautiful wife Shri Sita ji from Ravan's captive. Subsequently, Lord Shri Ram returned to his Kingdom in Ayodhya with his wife Shri Sita, younger brother Shri Lakshman and his friend Shri Hanuman ji. People of Ayodhya were delighted to see their beloved King and Queen. They rejoiced by decorating the streets and kingdom with Deep (aka Diya) among other things. Henceforth, Deepawali, the festival of lights is celebrated.

Lord Shri Ram is an avatar in human form of Hindu Lord Shri Vishnu. Shri Sita Mata is an avatar in human form of Goddess Laxmi Mata who is the wife of Lord Shri Vishnu.

Happy Diwali!

Jai Shri Ram ji and Sita Mata ji 🙂
